IGT Game King Upgrade Questions

Got an IGT Game King with what I think is a 5.3 poker version. Not sure how to tell exactly what the board and roms are but the main is M0000945 03/25/05 and others are G0004850 2009 Board is model 2068-A.
Also there is a smaller board as 7692440 and video is 3902

Called a few places and they said no one is really dealing with the older stuff anymore.
Hoping someone here can help me identify the max version I can run with just swapping rom chips.
I'm looking to get more multi-games instead of mostly poker as it is now.
I've seen them with like 77 games including slots - think those are GK6.x.
Just got about 30 games now and looking to add.
Got another rom set which I haven't installed yet Game King 5.0 Multi-Game M0001001 but don't have a games list for it - I do have the key22 chip.
Appreciate anyone's help or point me to where I can read up on what my options are.

The GK 6.X are all 044 platform. It would require changing the mother board, MPU & using a flash board. Somewhat expensive but worthwhile. You're pretty much at the top of the chain with a 3902 at 5.X level.

great info - i was just told this by someone who called me back - upgrade is over $500 for the hardware and roms.


It is worth it you think?
Wish I had a better way to compare.


Is there a games list anywhere I can see?
I also have GK5.0 Multi Game but haven't installed it yet since I heard that is a process too.
When I checked for games lists the links didn't work anymore -
Is there a good guide for swapping roms with the key22 that I have?

You could probably look around and get a second machine of the 6.x variety and run a different set of games on it. It will probably be more than $500 but not significantly more.
If one is good two is better.....


Then you could add a linked progressive....  :applause:

                         Is it possible to upgrade to a 81 game machine from a 31 game?   If so. what is required for the upgrade, parts and perhaps some wisdom to go along with it   Would like more slots games including "Texas Tea"

The texas tea that is usually associated with gameking sets is the crappy 3x3 slot.  If you want the full texas tea game, you are going to have to get the dedicated software set for Texas Tea.

The only way to upgrade to that many games is to upgrade your machine to 044 hardware and get a game board like Super Stars Poker which has 100 games on it.

                          So we're talking revisions for hardware that would make it too costly to not make it worthwhile I presume?      The  44 upgrade with "Star" software would  include the full blown Texas Tea too?
