Error 43 -slow spin

i have another  Haywire machine i just got ..it works fine except that it goes into error 43 ..i have swapped out the reels and it stays with 43 ....i later found out that this person put the chips in backwards and a did some testing and the error 43 also shows a slow spin code after the 43 ...i am now thinking that on of the black capacitor  for that reels was giving bad voltage to it causing the slow spin...it would play briefly then go to error 43 - (slow spin secondary code) any ideas..i read on a post that might be the issue..different issue i was looking at a friends double diamond machine that was not booting up ..after checking everything i pulled the gaming chip and there was a small piece missing..the small fine metal tab..is that enough to cause it to not boot..it looks like there is contact but not sure it there is enough...thanks

You do need all the pins. If you screwed up the chip that could be the cause of an issue - generally speaking though a 43 is not the outcome of this.


The 43 error means something has interrupted your spin on the third reel.
With the machine off spin the reels make sure they spin freely.
Make sure the reel strip is set well in the basket and not rubbing the glass when it spins.


If your all good there you can easily move reel 3 to position 2 and see if the error becomes a 42 instead of a 43.
The would mean the optics or bearings are likely bad on that reel basket. If this happens replace the assembly.


If the error remains a 43 then I would look at the resistors on the corner of the motherboard. There are 5 of them.
3 will be darkened and 2 will be brand new. This is because a S+ could technically host a 5 reel game.
If resistor 3 (middle) looks particularly worse for wear swap it with one of the new ones.

I have and they look fine . How would you check the resistor with a meter....thanks...I have ordered a new game chip .thanks again

If you're good at soldering, you can easily solder a small piece to that broken leg...if not, burn yourself a copy of the chip or get a member/vendor to do it for ya.

Typically to get a proper reading you set your meter to OHMs  (funny looking U) and measure each lead (each side).
If you were to set the meter to 5000 ohms and measure a 1000 ohm resistor the meter goes up 1/5th of the way.
If its a digital meter then it will say 1000.


Normally a resistor is measured when it is not on the board - this is the only way to get an accurate measurement of resistance.
I understand the resistance (pun intended) of unsoldering something only to measure it.
In this case you want to know if its good or bad and don't really care what the value really is.


I measure each of the unburnt ones then measure the other 3 and see what the difference is. You might have to try different OHM settings to be able to get a good reading from the unburnt one.
Once you get a good reading the rest should read the same.
Subsequently if number 3 doesn't register its dead.

i got it working ...the prongs from the power supply was dirty and cleaned it and the slow spin on 43 went away.all it took was a swipe with eraser ...thanks for all of your guys help
