New Owner Double Diamond 1996
« on: April 19, 2021, 02:36:28 PM »
So I just got my first slot machine total idiot.  Trying to figure out how to just get it open, there is 1 key for the very bottom which is where the coins fall I guess.  One key on the left that opens up I believe the settings menu.  And then a final key on the right which I think should open the slot machine but I can't get it open.  it isn't a standup slot it is a sit down one where it came with its own seat.  Just wondering how do I get it open if there is a trick.  It takes quarters.

Any ideas?  BTW the key on the right is not a normal key it is one of those weird circle ones.  The other two key are regular small ones.  The top of the machine has a hinge so it should flip upwards not to the side.  I just can't figure out how to get it to flip up.

I actually got it figured out you just have to turn the key really really hard.  So I got it open.  I don't think the coin hopper works when I put quarters in they just get stuck immediately.  Is there any way to test if the coin counter in works?  But if I push on the coin catch then the could would come out like it was a bad quarter.  Also I some how turned off the sound going through the options menu.  I think this is an S slot.

As Sunrise Side asked... please post a photo of your machine.

Also, please don't double post the same subject in two different areas of the forum. It can get very confusing.

Got the coin comparator running, its taking quarters hurray.  only  few problems.  I can't get it to take more than 2 at a time, so I can't save up credits.  Also every win acts like a hand pay instead of just awarding credits and counting up.  Gotta figure out the settings menu.

That's the way the machine works.  The workaround is to use an SP chip that uses montana-style credits (also known as euro-style credits).  The latest chip I know of if SP1137.  That will allow you to set it up so you can feed coins to credit meter until you read credit limit.

Im not the go to guy here as I need all the help I can get with my machine, but what about your Cash/Credit button? If I turn mine off the machine pays out, when turned on the winnings go to credits.  Maybe its that simple.

He is referring to inserting coins to stack up credits.  Most all S+ are sold with the standard nevada type credits, where the coins are immediate bets, so the machine will only accept the number of coins that will make the max bet.

If thats the way it works thats fine.  I'd like to just turn off the every win is a jackpot style win where I have to use the key.  There's no way that is how it's supposed to work haha.  I have a credit and win little LED screens.

Sounds like you need to increase the credit/hopper limit.

Could be hahaha, I've been trying to figure out what the settings menu does.  I know the all blank is the "game on" or whatever.  But that is all I know.

Please follow the directions on the page linked below to let us know what SP chip you have installed in your machine. With that information we can assist you with adjusting the settings so your machine will accumulate credits when you win, rather than going into a jackpot/handpay mode every time.

My machine is a sit down not a stand-up.  I don't think these instructions apply.  There is no CPU board from what I can see.

:duh: :banghead: Every modern slot machine in the world has a CPU circuit board.
You are allowed to called it an MPU too if you want....it doesn't matter.

Why not show us a photo of the insides of your slant machine and I will draw a BIG RED ARROW showing you where it is?

I found it, only problem is I'm not sure how the hopper comes out and I can't remove it without taking that out.

You have an SP1048 chip.

Open the door and press the little white button until you see a 7 on the display.

Turn the jackpot key until you see a 3.

Use the deck buttons to change the numbers to "9999" on the display.

Press the max bet to save new credit limit setting  or close the door.

There's other things you can do with that SP chip version but I'm tired to explain it all to you right now.

I just had my 2nd vaccine shot this morning....
Good luck.
