Cash out button doesn't do anything

I have S+.  There are 36 credits on the machine and the cash/credit button is illuminated.  When I press the button to cash out nothing happens.  No noise or anything.  The wires are connected to the switch and the button is depressing the switch.  I even replaced the switch.  Nothing.  Where should I look next to get the cash out button to work?

Check for a broken wire, or the button is wired wrong. No setting would cause that to happen.

Maybe the button went bad?  Can you switch the button out with another to see if that is the problem?

FIXED.
After checking wiring and switches, I swapped motherboards with another machine.  This issue with the cash out button followed the motherboard.  I replaced the eprom on the motherboard and it fixed the problem.
