Sound issue on newly acquired S+

Picked up a 1993 S+ Candy Bars with a 10 Mhz board. Has normal wear and all seems to function correctly, except.... The only sounds produced are the coin in and win/coin out sounds. There is a "squelch" sound when the individual reels stop, similar to releasing the button on a walkie talkie or CB. I turned the #3 DIP switch to "on" to enable reel spin sounds, but there was no change. Any ideas? Going to test the sounds this evening when I get home.

OK, Pushed the self test button until "50" was displayed. Turned the key and tested all of the sounds 50 through 56. Everything sounded fine. Even the music test "60" worked (I was unaware there was music, when does this play?) Is "55" the reel stop sound? It sounds like someone keying a mic.
Anyhow, I still have no reel spin sounds.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

tell us what SP chip is in your machine,  probably just a setting.

The dip switches have ZERO effect with your SP1311 chip, according to the Summary Report.

On page zero <0> Option [2], you can use the Spin button to choose reel-spin tones AND reel-stop sounds when set to a {0}...

or reel-spin tones only when set to a {1}.

THAT is it, I'm afraid to say.

Thanks to all who helped. It took a bit of experimentation and help from Stayouttadabumker & the FAQ post, especially the PSRs & Test option sheets, but MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Reel spin sounds working. Now to get the bill validator working.....
