Using an Ithaca 850 printer in a Bally Alpha
« on: February 12, 2016, 09:40:20 PM »
I am trying to install an Ithaca model 850 printer in a Bally ALpha.  I keep getting a "Printer Complete Flag Timeout" error with it.  I think there is a firmware problem causing this error.  Firmware in this printer is PE8600 Rev50.  I think I need a PP8589  Rev52 firmware chip in this to use it in an Alpha or does anyone have an 850 I could buy that was used in an ALpha.  Can anyone help me out.  Chip is an AT29c020.

I have an 850 in a cinevision right now. I also have a Future Gen that i want to put into the machine and take out the 850. Problem is I don't think I have the harness for the Future printer so I need the 850. Let me check and if I do have the correct harness I will sell you my 850 if you don't find one.

OK Thanks.  I have one question.  Is the harness for the GEN2 different than the harness used for the Ithaca 850??  Right now I have a 200213 harness in my Alphas.  Will this harness work with the 850??

Good news!!  I got the 850 to work in the Alpha using firmwre PP8522.  Prints great.  If anyone is interested in updating their M850 so it can be used in an ALpha please PM me.  I have the link for the firmware for this.  TJ
