Can you give us a picture of the whole comparator and optics? I good close up if possible. How are you seeing the light when door is closed? Taking tray out and using mirror? Have you tried unplugging and plugging the harnesses? Maybe some corrosion.

I just saw a video showing that the coin must pass through the comparator in order for the coin optics to register the credit. That would explain why the coin optics are not working if they rely on info from the comparator and the comparator is defective.

To see the light on the comparator I sat my phone in the hopper with the video and closed the door.

Looking at how that quarter is sitting in there it looks wrong. Like maybe you have a dollar comparator. See my photo for how the quarter size tokes sets compared to yours. It looks like you have a plastic shield for holding dollar size token and if that is so, your optics are also for large coin. You can change everything or go to the bank and order Eisenhower dollars
