917 extra line continental problem
« on: January 26, 2021, 01:07:56 PM »

Hi,
I bought a extra line continental a few weeks ago. It had a few issues, but most have been solved.
This machine was somewhere in his lifetime converted to a 917-1 with hopper payout. They also closed one of the melon slots by welding in a piece of metal.

The problem that i have with it is that the odds-motor, odds-follower and line-unit are running after a spin. This is normal for a payout, but it does this almost always if there is no win.

This continues and the problem sometimes goes away after a normal payout and starts again after the next payout.
During this problem when i add more than one coin the odds-follower steps up after inserting a coin. The odds-unit is working as it should.

I have a schematic of the 917.
Does anyone have the schematic for a 917-1 ?

I want to know what the correct wiring should be for the hopper.
I traced the wiring and these are the modifications they did :
 - removed the register counter unit.
 - disconnected CAM#1 switch that connects to the odds-follower reset coil. This coil now only activates with the reel B-2 switch.
 - connected NC-CAM#1 switch in series with the Pay detect trip relais-switch that goes to the Pay-relais from the hopper.
 - connected a NC-contact from the hopper payout-relais in series with the odds-motor.
 - both contacts from CAM#6 removed. Wiring of 1 contact is disconnected and wiring of the other is connected to the contact from CAM#9 (P.O.C. reset)

Please advise how to solve this problem. Schematics for a 917-1 would be most helpful.

Best regards,
Maurice

I have the schematic for the 917-1.

I'm buying a wide format scanner later today and will rescan that schem and get it posted onto http://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/ in the next couple of days.

schematic posted.

the remaining files are the same as the 917 (payout counter, reel wiring, etc.)

can you post a picture of the odds follower unit - wiper side including wiring around the edges - or email highest res possible pics of the game (entire front of machine and any inside pics you'd like to include) to slotpics@cdyn.com.  If you email a bunch of pics, I'll upload them to the web site to include with the paperwork.

I found the cause !

After a payout when the hopper motor stops, a coin is at the position of the "Payout Counter Step-Up Arm" and holding the arm in the up-position.

Now i only have to find a solution.

@wolftalk : I send you a lot of pictures of my machine and a real 917. I send them with WeTransfer. I noticed that you have not downloaded them. Did you get the mail?

I didn't get a notice from wetransfer.  Can you email the wetransfer access  info to slotpics@cdyn.com?

if you have the new style/snow hopper with the motor underneath, make sure the brake mechanism is not sticky.  When the hopper turns off, the brake should immediately stop the motor armature/rotor from spinning.

Link mailed.

I have an old style hopper without the brake.
I replaced the spring for the coin deflector in the hopper and it is much better now.
