Increase the odds of winning

I received 2 Bally slots. A 955 5 line pay and a1034 lucky7..after lots and lots of work they both work correctly (they take all your money)

I would like to increase the chance of winning on the 1034 for small payouts. It looks like you could put spacers under some channels changing the value. Say some of the orange (7) to cherry (2) to orange (4) cherry (5)
The display would be wrong but would pay more often
It is so long between payouts that it is no fun to play

Thoughts, is there a better way?

Good to hear you got two machines running again.
Please post photos of the 1034 when you can.

There is a possibility that the reels are out of order or the machine has been manipulated,
causing it to pay less.

Machines tend to run hot or cold.
Sometimes they just take the coins and other times it’s hard to empty the tray.

With a little information on the machine,
Wolftalk can help with information about the reel slot index disc.
As to comparing the correct disc numbers to what’s in the 1034.

484-1286
484-1287
484-1288
It does  run hot and cold and tends to hit bars most often when hot.
It's for the when the kids come over 5 cent machine. I was hopeful more small payouts  possible.

Reels seem to be in order.

There are devices "cheater plug" that clamp into index slots to prevent the index arm from dropping into the slot.

These devices were after market, most likely created by private individuals.
So they might be hard to find.
There’s been photos posted on the EM site in the past for a better visual.

You could insert a couple of these devices in front of the cherries and or oranges slots.
Thus increasing the odds to land in a winning combination.
Side effects might result in poor reel kicks.

A likely position would be a reel that has less cherries and or oranges.

For what this is worth, I have found that on my 809, 5 coin multiplier, if I switch the first and second reels the payout will be greater but you will empty the hopper over time. More cherrys will show up.

So a simple mod.
I cut a pice of 3/8 fuel line 3/4 long then down 1 side and 1/4" top and bottom other side.
This changes a orange to a cherry
Stock payout is 88.5%
+1 cherry -1 orange payout 104.7%
+2 cherry -2 orange payout 121.0%
+3 cherry -3 orange payout 137.3%
I'm going to start with 2 (it's for the kids) and see how it goes

It would change from 1 cherry to 8 cherry.
Due to cherry's pay by themselves payout would go to 172.5%
 Is this how a mechanic would cheat a casinos?

you did exactly what bally did to make different percentage versions of a game.

they created a new index disc and changed the tapes.

if you want to fix up the tapes, a couple options:

1] make ones using the symbols below (tape dimensions and spacing are on the drawings on http://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/1034/ - I don't have double bars or melons tho, so you'd need to make those.

2] make just cherries and stick them over the oranges you converted

3] send me your address to slotpics@cdyn.com and I'll send ya a tape that I scanned to get the symbols.  There's 3 cherries on the tape, tho you may need to use a little heat to remove fold crease in the tape to use one of them.    Chop out the cherries and stick them over your oranges.  You'll see the edge lines tho.

4] remove your tapes, scan them, cut-n-paste in cherries where ya want and print new tapes.  An m-220 tape is around 27.5 inches long tho, so you'd need a large format color printer.

Wow that's great info.
I think making new tapes is the way to go. These  have stains and are yellowing.

Take a look at my posting by searching  reel situation.

Making custom reel tapes can be a bit of a process.
Unless you have access to major printing abilities and a good art program.

I used Coreldraw and a regular printer.
