Universal Reel/Video Games / Re: universal slot machine jam« Last post by Pitts256 on Today at 06:44:20 AM »Lets check some things while were in the coin comparitor area. Refer to the attached photo.
On the left side is the door lock photo eye, it's lit so that's a good sign. Is there something blocking the eye now? This eye should turn off and on when you turn the door key lock. Try it. There are three coin photo eyes, the top two sensor the coin before it is dropped into the coin hopper, the third senses coins dropped to the overflow chute. The third is not used. To check them take a piece of paper a slide it in the eyes from the bottom as shown in the photo, a red led should come on at the front of the eye when the paper is inserted. Try it. On the left bottom side is the coin divertor coil, it's powered up and pulled in so that's also a good sign. Coins will divert to the hopper. How many wires are connected to the coin comparitor plug? The plug can have up to six wires connected. Start from the bottom as number six and list which positions have wires in them and the color. The Universal powered comparitors typically have two wires connected (black & violet). I suspect the cherry switch wiring was okay so return the wire connectors back to their original position. The best way to check the cherry switch is with a Volt-Ohm meter. You'll check the continuity of the switch at the wire connections while pushing-pulling the button. I doubt if that's going to be the issue so we'll place that on hold for now. Note: When the cherry switch is pulled out it will stay in a detent position and simulate the door being closed. The machine should go to the ready to play mode (as long as the key lock switch is in the locked position). 25
WMS Williams Video / Re: Wns BB2 top box main door« Last post by Stayouttadabunker on Today at 06:40:43 AM »On top of the bill validator under the deck is a sliding plate that activates the main door microswitch.
When you close the door, the door pushed against that sliding metal plate. While the door is open, pull on the sliding plate all the out and it will simulate that the door is in a closed state. If not, follow the two wires from that switch back to the backplane and check the door switch harness for continuity with a multimeter. All this stuff is in the WMS BB2 Manual in the NLG File System. If you become a Contributing full-fledged member of NLG, you will have access to it and much other stuff. Click on photo below to enlarge if needed...>>> 26
IGT AVP (Including G20,G23) / Re: IGT G23 - Red Screen Error« Last post by Stayouttadabunker on Today at 06:19:08 AM »Lua is a form of programming language developed around 1993.
It ran a function of trying to "initialize" a programmed index that isn't working. In other words, something got corrupted. There a could be a bad battery that couldn't hold the index list in the programming, possibly something failing on the MPU. Could be a million things that caused this corruption, a bad chip, a bad IC component, a bad memory stick, etc etc. On the bottom of that screen, you are instructed to turn the attendant key... try it. When you do that, does it revert back to this red screen? If so, then you have a fatal fault, which requires the need to clear the machine and re-install the game. Chances are though, it may at some point, come back. 27
