Pending Tilts Validation System Failure

From what I have read here as well as other places online, I think I know the answer to this, but I just want to confirm with the experts. 


I have two games with 044 boards.  Using the key chip and instructions here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR_B1e5_lp0 I got everything configured and working.  The issue is that I have a blinking candle and this error in the attendant menu.


It is my understanding that this is expected with SAS Standard Validation if the machine is not connected to a server of some kind.  Disabling SAS corrects the error but then the printer will not work.


Is this just the nature of the beast or is there a setup work around I’m missing.

It's the nature of the beast.  Free fix is to remove the top bulb from the candle.  $$$ fix is to install a TITO board.  Takes care of the blinking lamp, pending error, and you can use your tickets in your machine.

You are correct.


A TITO system will solve the Validatation System Failure issues and turn off the Candle.


Or, if you don't want to use a TITO, you can just remove the bulb from the Candle and play the game normally. It will function with that error, it's just annoying watching that Candle Flash.

Thanks for the info.  That's what I found as well, I just wanted to confirm. 


How would I know of there was an existing TITO in the machine?  I've seen the aftermarket boards, which these don't seem to have but I assume there was a factory TITO option for these things.

Tito board has to be aftermarket to work outside a casino server.
