IGT Game King Printer/Monitor
« on: September 02, 2015, 10:10:05 PM »
Does anyone know if I can put a printer in this machine and if so what parts are required??  Also if someone has a reasonbly priced LCD touch monitor I would be interested in buying.

I have seen a picture (on this message board) of a separate "module" that sits on top of the machine that has a printer. I have converted a machine exactly like yours to accept tickets and to LCD.

Mine has a 3902 board in it. I installed a BettorTITO board and the machine will accept tickets but I never located the "module" I mentioned previously, so I made any cashouts handpay only. I figured that trying to wedge a printer into the existing cabinet doesn't seem practical, but I like not having to use cash at all, and print tickets from other machines to use on this one.

The LCD conversion was with a Ceronix 15" kit (about $500 new). The CRTs in these machines are 13". It makes a tremendous difference in screen quality. I don't recall seeing a used one out there but perhaps you can locate one.

Hope this helps  :cool_thumb_up:

Thanks balancer.  I believe it's a 3902.  I bought it as a gift for someone so I am trying to clean it up a bit. Make it reliable a good looking.  I have seen the monitors by Ceronix but was hoping to find a used one.  The $500 is almost what I paid for the machine.  I figured on the bettertito but since this is there only machine I don't think it's necessary (I think).     I have Bettertitos in my home machines and that works great!

So where did you end up putting the printer?   Seems like there is room on the right hand side with the proper brackets but since I don't have experience with this machine I am hunting and pecking.   Any tips on how you installed yours would be appreciated.

Mine still has no printer. It has "TITO" but I guess it's just "TI". It makes the machine accept tickets but all cashouts are handpay, in other words I never really cashout.

On the right where you currently have player tracking I was never able to figure out how to wedge a printer in there, or anywhere else. What I did do is find an original denomination panel (the big yellow arrow) and hooked up a 24V led strip to light it. I also changed the buttons to LED and the glass lights to LED, I also changed the software. These changes jazzed it up quite a bit, all can been seen in this threads before and after photos;

Edit; I also removed or abandoned in place all of the coin handling equipment

Yes!  I ran across your post when I started thinking about doing this.   Your machine really looks nice!  And that's exactly what I want to do.  Just need to figure out the printer.  Other than that I want to duplicate everything you have done.

Thanks!

I tried to find the post where the printer module was shown but can't find it, I'm 99% certain it was posted by member Tilt and I hope he can chime in and show you it. I appreciate your compliments about my machine, it was a labor of love for sure because it wasn't cheap  :rotfl: . But really the LCD was by far the biggest expense. The LEDs were pretty inexpensive and I kept my eye out for the other parts and they came very reasonable.

Here's a picture of one with a printer installed (not my machine).  The printer topbox is probably going to be hard to find as these machines are close to 20 years old now.  Never know, you might get lucky though.   I agree with TheAirBalancer, 100% LED lighting and the Ceronix 15" LCD really make the machine look great.
