Advice on shopping for a Game King

Hey folks -

Just got my first machine running and am already looking for a second. This time I'm looking at an igt multigame hnit, but don't know much about them. I didn't see a faq posted here so figured I'd just post my questions:

How can I tell the difference between a 3802, 3902 and 044 externally?

Should I expect a big swing in price points between the 3 models?

Most if not all of the machines I've found are coinless. I'd like to have it rigged for nickles. What should I expect to spend on parts to do this, and what would a reasonable markup be for a machine with it configured from the dealer?

The unit I'm considering has 30 games, 13 poker, 7 slots, 9 keno and blackjack. Any idea what model this one might be and what upgrades are available?

It is hard to tell by just looking at the machine.  You would have to look at the mpu board.  3802 is all eprom based, no simms.  3902 has simms and eproms.  044 uses a flash board.  That is how you can tell in a nutshell.  044 systems can run 3902 and 3802 software.  3902 systems can run 3802 software.  Depending on your geographical area, the prices between all 3 can vary.  On average you can expect to see about $200 price differences between each platfrom, with 3802 being the least expensive.  At this point of the game, I would just get an 044 system, since it is the one that gives you the most flexibility.  The best flash board for that system in my opinion is Super Stars Poker.  It has 100 game families to choose from.  Here's the PSR which details all the games available on this flashboard.  It has full versions of the very popular igt slot games Wolf Run and Wild Coyote.

Super Star Poker is a great game if you love the multi-hand poker games especially.  Game King 6.4 is REALLY awesome if you can get it for the expanded bonus games bundled with the poker games.  Keno games are expanded as well.

There's a Keno game called Ultimate Way Keno that I've not seen on other 6.x games.  Also, some other 4 card games that are not on 6.x games prior to 6.4.
