Machine disabled and invalid progressives messages
« on: August 11, 2018, 11:49:34 AM »
So I just received a new Hot Shot Inferno title for my Bally alpha 2 v32 Machine. It’s a pretty new game, so upgraded the os to 370b. Also has a digital wheel, so I connected the topper to the video card with the Dell display to vga adapter. Installed the game and went through the setup process as usual. Everything seemed great until I got to the actual game screen. Instead of happily accepting my bills or vouchers, machine has large blue message that says “machine disabled” on screen. When I turn operators key, the error says “invalid progressives”. I have 3 other v32 titles and at least 6 v22/22 titles with progressives, and I set them all up the same way - with super progressive and default progressive levels and internal controller - they all work no problem. I set this game up the same way, and I keep getting the same message. I have tinkered with the setup at least a dozen times without luck. I am hoping someone out there has encountered this message before (maybe with a different game since this is a new title) and can shed some light on my problem. Would really appreciate any help. Thanks! Would love to post photos, but it always says my attachments are too large when I do.

That game is a single denomination game, you can not select more than 1.

How the heck should I know.  I'm just telling you that you when you set up a single denomination game with multiple denominations you will get that message.  Clear the machine and start over.

... Would really appreciate any help. Thanks! Would love to post photos, but it always says my attachments are too large when I do.

That's because the photos are over 1 meg filesize which is the max for an attachment. If you check the settings or options on your camera or phone, many have a way to reduce the size of the photo it takes.

Also, you can post your photos to a free photo hosting site like imgur.com, imgbb.com or others. Then add the link to the photo in your message here. For longevity it's better if the photo is posted directly to NLG but sometimes that isn't possible.

Or you can get photo edit software and reduce it. Or you can email the photo to yourself and post that reduced version here. Emailing the photo will often automatically reduce it, so the email you receive will have a smaller version of the photo.

Thanks for advice Jeff. Unfortunately, in this case, I have set to 1 cent denomination only every time and still get this message. I have noticed that the upper progressive levels seem to be capped based on the first denomination screen - where it says upper jackpot 10,000 and so on. If I change these to 40,000 range, they seem to also go up in default progressives. Unfortunately, the jackpot option seems locked at 1,200 - can’t change in denom screen. I only messed with this because I saw someone else’s screen pic showing higher progressive totals, but same bet amounts as I set my machine too (my machine  had upper jackpot at 10,000 and there’s had 40,000). I only did this after failing numerous times leaving these numbers alone. I have cleared and run software over a dozen times now. I always select just 1 cent denom. but I do have to enable the multi denom option in first denom menu to get into game options to set percentage. If there is a way to get into game options under denom without enabling multi denom option (I am not actually selecting more than  1 denom), someone please let me know.

So there is where the issue is, if you select multi denomination it will cause that error on a single denomination game.

How do I set up game options and progress without selecting multidenom? Do I just cycle through options to disable and then game options lights up?

Thanks so much Jeff! Can’t believe I didn’t know you could cycle from enable to disable and still have green option there. Always just enabled multidenom to get into game config. Didn’t realize it would lock up single denom games - thought I had to actually select more than one denom in menus for that to occur. Again thanks!
Are we on speaking terms again or something????
