Be sure you didn't break one of the wires on the cabinet optic when you screwed it down on the wrong side.

Wwthanks rest it and the wires are fine moved it several times but yellow light and credits remain on

Your second picture shows the optic facing to the front. It should face to the side, like RB photo's. If you remove your reel glass, you can look right at them to adjust. The 2 must face each other. The one on the cabinet is the emitter. With power on take a little video and you should see it flash. Unless you have them reversed. I think 1 is red/white and other is black/red. If I remember right the red/white is for the cabinet.

New door optics in place moved the cabinet optic several different places trying to align with door side and yellow light continues to stay lit when the door closes. Thousands of you gamers out their I cannot believe no one else has a theory as to why this is happening I getting ready to pitch this 225 pound worthless machine out to the curb ......can anyone help me get this working. Again this is a 1996 it s plus triple double diamond quarter 2 credit machine

I did change the optics on the cabinet like RB pic their are 200 credits on the machine from where I hit when it was in test mode the door closes and I press 2 credits reels spin like normal and
The yellow light still flashes I'll try removing the glass and see if the optics are aligned or if I see a flash

I took out the insert on the glass for the dollar bill below and now can see the optics are aligned exactly no light flash when the door closes and yellow light continues to flash

It's still possible that you damaged the connection when you screwed it down against the wires. Those are very delicate connections & easily damaged. Those optics worked 3 days ago. I will send you another emitter or pair to try if you pay for shipping. Let me know. Otherwise I will be at the curb waiting.

Just so you know, the light flashes for security. In the casino it would visually alert that the door had been opened. It is NOT any kind of code and means nothing as far as repair. When your optics are aligned properly the pseudo credits will clear when you close the door

Pull the coin hopper out and look at long black connector all the way to the right on the motherboard. (J10) Make sure it is pushed in tight, it is easy to snag it loose when removing MPU tray. The green wire on left end of connector goes thru door circuit. If connector is pulled loose you will never get past the open door condition.

Here's another twist ...turned on the machine today getting error code 3100 flashing. I did have 284 test credits when I shut it down yesterday ......the 284 credits light is flashing also

RB got the new door optics installed correctly powered up and got error code 3100 xtra coin paid out
Yellow light continues to flash
Cleared the machine put in test mode. It plays as long as I hit the white test credit button
But yellow light doesn't shut off
I'm about done ....can't figure out what's stopping the door optics from engaging

Where are you? Maybe someone is close. Ignore the flashing light. Is your cash can all the way in? How about the belly door switch? Has it been bypassed? Did you check the connections on mother board?

Hopper in all the way don't know how to by pass belly switch I'm In Columbus "Ohio have triple checked all connections

IF remove and replug in the hopper the 3100 goes away when you close the door..... however since the machine doesn't appear to recognize the door being closed the 3100 will not clear until you get your first issue sorted so I would ignore the 3100 for the moment. It was caused when you had your hopper removed. I would hope your making these changes when the power is off.

In addition to making sure you have the Transmit and Receive in the correct spot you also need to make sure the wire polarity is correct.
In my diagram below if polarity of A&B or C&D is reversed it won't work.

You should also be able to see if your emitter is working by using a digital Camera (aka cell phone).
The emitter gives off infrared light that can't be seen by the naked eye but with a digital camera or cell phone it looks like a bright flashing dot.

If your emitter is working and you have the optics aligned then you should be good to go.
