Update: Power Issues on E2000
« on: November 05, 2019, 10:24:16 AM »
Thanks for the help yesterday.   I did make some progress on testing some of the wiring with my tester.  Most lines alerted that they were "hot"  except these attached.

I have lights in some places and the LED has power....but not sure where to turn next.... I suspect the power board.... not sure.

I appreciate the help and I'm looking forward to making progress on this one.

On pics...the areas in RED i tested and the tester was cold.... no power here apparently :(

Did you check the fuse holders?
Those fuse holders have a reputation of going bad.
Remove the complete set of fuse holders and check from the back side.

Thanks Paul, I suspect that as well. I did pull them but I just merely checked the fuses but the holders might actually be bad and the caps may not be tight enough. I did check all the wires and there were no broken ones.
I think I will pull that fuse panel and check all the holders and replace them if needed.  I think I have to rule that out first   Thanks for the feedback, I learn  a little bit more every day.

the first picture looks like the transformer for the fluorescent lamps,  second picture, only the middle lamp should be on when power applied, the other two will come on via the reel mech coin relay. the third picture is the power supply, you should have three voltages on the wire loops, +5vdc, +10vdc cross over  and I forget the third voltage?, the plug on the left, supplies AC voltages from the transformer via the fuses. the other picture is general illumination lamps, should have 7 vac to run them, again they should come on when power is applied.   sometimes the machine could have shut down on its own, that's a safety timer down in the lower left corner behind the hopper, if it is triggered there will be a red neon lamp lit, when this is triggered it removes the 110 vac from everything, it was intended to shut down the hopper so it wouldn't dispense all the casino's money.

without the right power, nothing will operate.

Turns out part of the issue was one of the fuse holders… I replaced it re-soldered it and everything appears normal.... I changed out the three mini bulbs on front, as well as the ones in top panel for payouts/coins in play. Also replaced the F14T8 tube up top... all working!

Still thats about it.... I’m leaning toward this being a power supply issue.

I still have a 1.0.0..6 code on front.

The 8 amp fuse has blown twice since i added bulbs....
I made sure to match the bulbs that were in there before ,wattage wise, not sure what is happening now.
