BB2 - 22" LCD touchscreen other than Ceronix ?
« on: March 23, 2015, 03:01:23 PM »
Anyone using a 22" LCD touchscreen in their BB2 that is not a Ceronix ?  My Kortek is giving me an assert_fail that the game requires a higher resolution and a widescreen. This is after the game loads to 100% and the next step is to actually display the game screen to play.

Yet it is a 16x10 widescreen; with resolution up to the same as the ceronix cpa-5095 (1680x1050).

I even hooked up my 32" LCD as the main screen to test;  which was in full HD to 1920x1080 (and can also go 1680x1050),  and i still get that error..

Non widescreen games play ok.

Your Kortek is missing the firmware that the machine is looking for.  Which model Kortek are you using?  Is it a gaming monitor?
If it ain't broke don't mess with it.....

Yes.. The one i have in there now is  the ktl-220s-03. It originally was from an IGT avp; but i figured the "igt" part of it was the touchscreen being compatible with igt. For now in the BB2 i'm not using the touchscreen piece of it. And it plays the non-widescreen bb2 games; so i thought i should be good with the widescreen also.  At this point i'm just trying to get one of my bb2 widescreens loaded and working; got the touchscreen going to another screen temporarily.

Would i be able to update the firmware for the assert-fail error ?

Thanks..

I am using Kortek monitors that came out of Aristocrat machines and they work fine.  Mine are KT-LA221MCS-A9.  I think you can proabaly change out the A/D board to make the ones you have work.  I was told by a rep at Ceronix that the BB2/BB3 looks for firmware on the A/D board and that not all 22" monitors have it.

Does the a/d board need to be from another kortek or can i steal one from my 19" Kristel that works in the BB1 ?

The A/D boards are custom boards so I doubt you can swap them, the connections internal are probably different too.  I doubt you can use a 19" board in a 22" monitor too.  Open them up and compare.

When you pulled the LCD from the aristocrat did you have to do anything to make the a/d board compatible with the BB2 or did it just work as the main screen without a problem ?  For those wide-screen games ..

Thanks

The monitors worked perfectly, I had to make touch screen cables and power cables since they were different than the WMS, but nothing else was required.  BTW, the A/D board on these monitors are D only, no Analog inputs are on the board.
