Machine Disabled Error?
« on: April 25, 2014, 03:54:32 PM »
Hi Everyone,
Im stumped on a problem i cant quite figure out.
My Alpha 9000 Monte Carlo Royale is coming up
"MACHINE DISABLED". I tried rebooting it and resetting
the machine and still cant get back into game mode.
When i go into the menu, i get the following,

Pending Status:
Handpay Validation Queue Full
Attendant Menu Entered.

I cant figure out how to clear this and get the game
up and running. I attached 2 pics of the screen.  Any
help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete

Ok, well the clear is easy, it's the setup afterwards that's much more complicated.  With the machine off, assuming you have the correct clear card, remove the OS card and install the clear card.  Power up the machine and follow the prompt when it says TURN THE KEY to perform the clear.  When you turn the key it will show it successfully cleared NVRAM and EEPROM.  At that point turn the machine off and reinstall the OS card.  Now you will be ready to turn the machine back on and set the machine back up.
If it ain't broke don't mess with it.....

I always pop/back my game card out also just to be safe when clearing.  It may not affect it but it is what I was taught.

Thanks guys, Im gonna give it a shot tonight. Hopefully i wont get stuck setting up the parameters. Like i mentioned before, this is my first clear/setup on a bally alpha. Im not as familiar with these machines as with a igt s-plus or a s2000.

While in the operator set up menu, look at the top right corner of the screen. It will tell you which items still need to be addresed while going through set up.

Here's a thread I found on the Archive site on the Validation issue...I know the Progressive set-up info was discussed there as well. Search around and you will find it.

Someone was nice enough to bring it over the Progressive Set-Up info to the new site and Sticky it for you! Look at the top of the Alpha forum, the 2nd sticky post is Progressive set-ups.  :duh:  I'm sure all you need to know is in the thread.

Good luck and happy reading!  :applause: :applause: :applause:

I'm not sure about that exact game but on all other machines that I've set up, you can just change the progressive setting to "Disabled" in the set-up menu. Maybe try that for now just to get'r running.

Your machine only has one progressive jackpot right? Try putting in a value that is 10,000 times your game's denomination.

yes, it only has one progressive.  i know it should be set to $2500 but i cant find where to input that info.  i solved every other error on my own but just cant figure out how and where to set up the progressive value.  once i get past this, i should be up and running.  hopefully...

Thanks everyone, i got the monte carlo royale up and running!  It took me 3 ram clears to backtrack my mistakes and redo all the proper settings. Another piece of learning knowledge under my belt.  Again, thank you ALL for the help.  The only way to learn is from hands on experience.  Im glad i stuck it out and didnt call anyone to come fix it for me.   :thank_you:
