Alpha Software Help
« on: May 07, 2014, 02:22:39 PM »
Hey guys,
I just purchased a batch of S9E's and S9-1's but they are missing the software. I'm pretty sure that I have found the correct CF card game numbers but I'm having trouble trying to determine which O/S cards to use with each game. So I guess the question is, how can I find out which O/S needs to be used. I'm sure there's a master list of game titles that tell what CF game and O/S cards to use for each game theme but I'm coming up empty here.

What BIOS is in the MPU? If you have a BIOS and OS matching, you can pretty much run any game. If you have a good BIOS and OS combo, you DON'T need to swap those out for a specific game. Gotta love Bally.

I just need to know what dictates wich o/s to run. Are you saying to look at the bios and that will tell me what o/s to run?

Pull out the mpu, and I believe by the 2 coin batterys theres a chip with a number on it....for an example...mine reads:
AVBPROD0R807-00 ST....This is your bios. Usually people go by the 807.

Let's say I have an 807 bios, how do I know what o/s to run? what if I have an 809 or 300M bios etc.. is there a chart to reference or a rule of thumb to go by that tells what o/s to run with each version of bios?

Hey Harp.....would you know the difference in any of these Bios and OS? Is one faster then the other? Can only certain games be played on curtain ones?

Use an 809 Bios, a 320 clear and a 326 OS and you will have no problems!

I don't recall anyone mentioning a 1GB MPU....
Look at the chart for the correct Bios, OS and Clear for the 1GB!
