What is the exact error?   Also what type of game (reel or video) and title?

Have you done a clear of the machine?   After applying the clear chip can you snap a pic of the screen?

It looks like the wrong bill validator was selected for starters

yes, I made a clear and then set starting options, I get the protocol error.

the validator is offline momentarily.

at this time I can not take a picture of the screen when I put the clear chip.

I've found with some Bally games - that when you select that you have a printer installed, the machine then wants to know what type of validation you are using.

My best advice would be to select that you don't have a bill validator and see what  happens next.

after doing multiple tests, I was able to find the problem. communication port of CMD was burned, I could solve this because I had a parallel port support. but also discovered that the port of the bill validator is burned.

knowing the problem and I can sleep in peace XD.

thanks for the help!
