Upgrade from 501 board to 504?
« on: April 30, 2024, 01:48:03 PM »
Is there any reason I should upgrade a 501 board to a 504 ?  It is running triple triple diamond.  I did notice the payout is on the board. Does that change with upgrading?

The only reason would be for quieter audio if you were to use a MML2 sound board. You can change the payout in the menu. The board doesn't matter.

Still learning.  Thanks

The key chip to use is KEY45. A clear chip should only be used to change accounting denomination. You would probably never need it. It's number is IVC224. Contact member RB here for the chips.

This board has a chip on it that say 97%.  Will the 00017 still work to change percentage?  Can you tell me if this is for sure a 501 board?  I am just going by what is written on it.  Is there a definitive guide on how to identify MPU boards?

Thanks

Your machine has an SB001000 and an S+ 97% SS chip on it.  You need either a different SS chip or the correct SB chip and the correct key chip to change payout %.  Key 17 is for game king.

Yeah...look at those two white rectangular labels on the circuit board.
One label is under the piggyback MML (MultiMedia Lite) board.
Look at the last three numbers.

That makes allot of sense.  I was looking at the old site today and i found the S+ bible and it listed triple triple diamond as an S+ game.  So as a neewbie, what does that mean?

I take it the SS chip changes the payout percentage on S+ boards?  What is the SB chip?

Will the Clear IVC224 and the Key 45 still work?  I have a 45 key on its way, but from what I am hearing is that it wont work with the current chipset.

If not could I upgrade the board?

Did I mess something up when I used the 00017 key?  I still have the same problem from my other post where the reels start automatically after the 3rd quarter is dropped. This started after trying to use the 00017 key.

Sorry for all the questions.  I am just trying to make sense of how this all works.

Also, I asked in a prior comment if there is a definitive guide to the boards.  I think that was the wrong question.  What I meant to ask is if there a guide that lists the differences in each board and what chips they can use.   Like i didn't know until today you can use S+ on a S2000 board.

If there is documentation somewhere please point me in the right direction.  I feel bad asking these basic questions.

Thanks again for all your help,

Newbooty
