Bally's 5500 Jackpot Reset Key Question
« on: September 05, 2021, 09:28:40 AM »
My win was $2400 (480) coins. Coins began to be paid out. Since I didn't have 480 coins in the hopper, I had to keep opening it and adding coins. I learned about a jackpot reset key. After I put the key in when the hopper was empty, it started doing some kind of check, so I opened the cabinent and kept reloading coins until the jackpot was paid.

Questions:

1) After the key is turned, what is it dong in the background? Am I supposed to hit any buttons to get it to stop?

2) IS there a way I can credit the machine?

Thanks!

Putting more coins in the hopper was the correct thing to do.  The machine must pay out the credits in full through the hopper to get the machine to play another game. That was the right thing, they always have to complete the payout.
The reset/attendant key is not used, or needed with that error. When you turned the key the machine started the accounting menus readouts.
Your machine is working good. Put 500 to 800 coins in the hopper and enjoy playing.

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
