Need help identifying this slot (possible new project)
« on: January 03, 2015, 08:01:04 AM »
Once again I turn to the experts and gurus. I can pick up this slot for $75.00. Owner doesn't know anything about it other than its a early 80's Bally that lights up but "don't work anymore" I asked for the model and he said it is a model 1113 with a serial number 126461. I've been looking around to see if I can derive any info from the serial number but coming up empty. Trying to determine if it is E/M 1000 2000? I attached a crappy picture of the machine. Thanks for any insight.

1113 is a low boy which this is not  - i would guess this is an E-series machine - most likely and E2000 - need pics of the inside - without the pics - you may just have an emply cabinet (no hopper for an e/m) no boards as well for an e-series.

Thanks for the reply. The model he gave me kept coming up with a low boy every place I searched which is why I am confused by it. I am going to look at it this afternoon (if the freezing rain stops) and hopefully it is not a gutted cabinet or he is going to keep it. looks like it is a fruit machine and I read somewhere that if it has 7's it is a 2000. Don't know if that is the case or not since I'm a slot noob.  :Scratch-Head:

If it has the hopper and has boards (EXCEPTION - if it says SUMMIT on the reel mechanism or side of machine - RUN don't WALK AWAY!!!).
the cpu will be mounted to the left of the reel mechanism - there will be a AA size battery mounted on the edge closest to you middle of the board - look for acid damage - along the bottom of the battery - that is a major expense. post pics as soon as you get there - maybe someone will be avail to advise you.

Well I went and picked up the slot. It looks like it is a E/M slot and the number on the Bally tag is a 1115. It has an IGT tag on it and it says it is a 1113  :Scratch-Head: Still not quit sure what I have yet but I have it!  :drool04: it also came with 8.50 in quarters still in the hopper so I paid a whopping 66.50 for this jewel. I have not plugged it in yet because the cord needs some work and I want to figure out what it is first.

Back in the day IGT would take casino machines in trade - refurbish them - and resell - this is one of them - since they made it a 3 line game - the 1115 kind of matches - except it is not a low boy.  I would say a 1115 wire diagram would work on this machine.

So is this a 1982 machine or is that the refurbish date from igt? I thought the 80' vintage machines were E series

Okay after some searching I think I answered my own question. I found another post that said the date was stamped in the black section of the tag. I checked and it is marked 7 19 78. So the IGT date must be the refurbished date.

Since this is a EM unit I guess I should continue my discussion and questions in the electromechanical section. :thank_you:

My elementary knowledge of the E1000/2000 platforms lead me to agree that the machine is an EM. I look for the red digital meter as a sign of an E1000/2000 machine. I very well may be not 100% correct on this one, but then hey, it took me awhile (and no, im not telling you how long) to differentiate between a S+ and an S2000 when looking at a pile of machines!  :rotfl: :rotfl:
