bally 5000 3 reel Hole-In-One machine
« on: January 20, 2015, 09:40:25 PM »
i recently purchased a bally 5000 nickel machine.  when i first got it, it was working but would go to reel tilt after 2 or 3 spins.  i would reset it and the same thing would happen.  i was told that since the machine was idle for about 2 years, i should lift the eproms and reset them just in case the prongs had a bad connection. while doing that, several of the prongs on the U12 and U15 proms broke.  i went online to buy the U12,15,18,and 20 proms from vendors who reproduced them.  i also bought the U12 and U 15 clear proms.  i went thru the ram clear process but it did not clear and the display panel showed 2 lines of funny characters, and no error message.  i am not a electronics nor have any knowledge about slots.  can anyone offer me smoe advice as what could be the problem.

Some software needs the clear chips but most do not, a simple jumper setting will clear the board.

You may want to send your boards in to make sure everything is working properly on them.

If the two RAM chips on the MPU board are not getting voltage the game is scrambled.

Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.
