Bally E-2099 Not lighting up correctly.
« on: January 26, 2015, 06:00:41 PM »
Hello,

This isn't my field of expertise,  i have a business restoring antique slot machine (CA Slot Restorations).  However  a friend of mine has a Bally E-2099 slot machine that, with the help of foxslots, i fixed before.  Now, he does not have certain lights coming on.  what happens is this...all lights except for the coin in light, candle light and bell do not work.   the machine plays fine,  but when 1-5 coins are inserted,  the lights denoting how many coins being played, do not light up.   There does appear to be on 444 bulb blown...i'll replace that,  but I don't think that would cause the issue.  I checked five out of 6 of the fuses.  the first fuse (1) Power Supply Board, does not want to come out.

Any thoughts?

As mentioned,  i am not too familiar with these modern machines.

thanks
Youngjedi

Check the connectors on the row indicated by the arrow. The I/O board will be on the back panel inside the machine, behind the reel mechanism. Remove the reels to get access to it.

You might want to pull the board out, and take a good look at the solder joints behind those pins on the connectors. Cold solder joints will drive you crazy trying to find them.

Better yet, just go ahead and reflow the solder joints.
