« on: February 15, 2015, 12:47:38 PM »
E2241 This machine worked perfectly, then after sitting, the reels didnt stop, now i went to try fixing that and the machine seems to be stuck in tilt mode.  I dont know what to do to get it out and into test mode.  Thanks

Have you pressed the rest button on the hopper board? Press it several times to make sure  it has a good connection then hold down for 5 seconds and release.

You could try removing your plug on the power supply board behind the hopper. If that plugs loose or dirty it can cause problems. Are you showing any numbers in the win meter when this happens? Also make sure nothing is rubbing on the reels, link the win meter ribbon cable.

I just got in a machine in that tilts on the first spin & won't clear when it's cold? The middle reel stops, but 1 & 3 are loose & don't lock up? Sometimes if I keep pressing  & holding the reset it will clear, but not always. If that doesn't work I pull the top 1501 chip out for a second & it works every time. Once it's cleared the machine works great until the next day when I turn it on again cold so far? I've only had it 2 days though. Tomorrow I'm going to let it warm up for 5 minutes before I spin the reels to see if that makes a difference? I'm also now going to clean the power plug like Gary suggested.
I'm totally new to E series machines, so listen to the well seasoned guys here that give out great advice.

Possibly a shorted battery on the CPU? Clip the battery lead and try it again. A shorted battery will put an excessive load on the memory chips.

Check the power supply voltages and also the 5v supplies on the CPU board.

I have checked all the plugs, and they seem fine, reconnected, still am stuck in tilt mode.  Whe you reset the machine the light goes off, then right back on.  It will not go into test mode either.  Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Is there anything showing in your win meter when this happens? Have you checked your power supply voltages?

Ok, I have tweaked the arm and kick switches to the opposite of the diagram on the side of the reels.  Now it accepts coins, but I cant move the arm.  Getting closer.

I just re tweaked the kick switch to the opposite of where it was.  Now it accepts coins, handle pulls, reels spin.  Back to the original problem....The reels spin but will not stop????

Hey, thanks for all the help.   I just went back to the basics and lubed everything I could, then it all came back to life.   I put over 250 pulls on it without an error.  I just need to use this thing more.   Thanks to all that helped!!!!
