Bally Slot, only accepts Vouchers?

Hoping this is in the correct section..  I'm familiar with IGT machines, but not the Bally ones.

I came across a 2004 Bally machine that the owner says ONLY accepts vouchers.. no Bills, no coins.  I assume it was used in a gambling parlor of some sort that you bought a voucher, then used it on this type of machine, so all cash in one place??.

Anyone have a clue on how hard to convert to take coins and bills.  I assume I'd need the proper bill validator, the coin hopper and change the machine settings.  Owner claims it has the coin comparator in it, but no hopper or BV.  (Worse case, with no BV, adding hopper, changing dip switches for coins only?)..

Please let me know your thoughts..  and pricing for parts, difficulty level to convert.

Anything I can do it it's current state to verify it's in working condition.. Plug in, reels, spin? (like an IGT initial startup).. no way to test unless I had a valid voucher..lol

Post pictures of the machine with the door open and the bill validator assembly.  It may be just a case of dip switches on the validator depending on model.

It is a wba validator, there are some switches on the side of the validator that enables/disables different currency values.  I'm surprised he says it only works with tickets, he would need to have some sort of system to validate the tickets, and I don't see anyting on the photos, unless it is in the top box.

These are the switch settings, the type is disabled when the switch is in the ON position, enabled in the OFF position.

1 - TITO Barcode Coupon
2 - $1
3 - $5
4 - $10
5 - $20
6 - $50
7 - $100
8 - Test Mode <--Needs to be in the off position during normal use.

Most of the time people have all the switches In the off position to take all forms of currency and tickets if so equipped.

For coins, you will need a coin entry guide, which is probably missing, as well as the hopper.

I'm assuming what he meant by only working with tickets is it doesn't accept coins (no coin slot) or $ bills, so no way to really test it.

How much do you think it's worth in current condition?  And worth taking a chance on not having a boat anchor?

Said he got it in an auction, messed with it for 20 minutes, then realized no way to put credits on there.
