New Machine / New to home slots

Hello all,

I just purchased this machine in a yard sale, works perfectly and of course I want to know how to start changing things.
Can anyone help identify this? I see lot's of triple doubles R/W/B slots but nothing like this one. I would like to upgrade the bill validation, if possible, and know how to change settings on the slot.

It is an S+.  Look at the forum for S+ reel slots.  There are a lot of stickies with how-to's and general information on that model.  To update the validator, we are going to need pictures of the validator itself.  Take a picture of the machine with the door open and we can at least narrow the type of validator you have.  Or if you are confident enough, you can pull the validator out, and post a picture of it, from various angles.  Front, underside and rear.

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought it may have been the S+ after a few hours of research. I took a quick picture of the validator before i had to run to the airport. It seems to have the model and maybe the eprom date?

Looks like that was the latest version available for the BV. How hard/expensive it is to upgrade?

The best you can get for it is a wba 12/13, it will take up to the new $5 but not the new $100's.  You can pick them up all day long for under $60 complete with power supply.  You will need to remove the validator cage and harness, and then install the new cage and harness and power supply.  If you've never done it, maybe an hour being really carefully.  If you've done it before, under 10 minutes.  I just changed the validator on an I-game, took me about 10 minutes, and a lot of that was waiting for the system to boot and make sure it worked.

You would need a complete change.

Validator with latest IDO022/023 software.
Cage and cash can
Harness for S+
WBA Power supply for S+

I'm not 100% sure on this, but you may also need to change the validator bezel in the front.

just a curiosity, with his current DBV-200 it will work with the newer $10, $20 and $50 bills right?  Just not compatible with new $5 and $100?  I sometimes have trouble interpreting the JCM documents. At the top of page 2 of the JCM document it mentions something about "improving acceptance of all new style bills ($5,$10,$20,$50,$100)". Is this referring to the interim new bills several years ago before the later redesign?

The last change note says it adds the Nextgen $10, so it will take everything up to and including the nextgen $10, which would be $20, $50, $10 and of course the older bills.
