IGT S-2000 set up, player slectable credit
« on: June 17, 2016, 12:52:49 PM »
I just replaced a Varta and button battery in a customers S-2000 game, doesn't have the led screen so not a vision game I guess. I did this without using Key programs. I can't get the coins or 20 dollar bill to go to credit. Do I have to set up player selectable credit somehow or (is this standard defult setting) and if so, how do I do this? Also the wba-12 has V3.80-34 software but BV will only take a $20 bill, do I need to set up BV to take all bills somehow. I am green on the S-2000 and most of my knowledge stopped with the S-Plus.
Thank You

Did the customer have the machine set up for multidenom and coins to credit becore the battery problem? Post a picture of the board and list the SB, Sg and version chip numbers that are installed on the board. As far as the BV, the only thing that really limits what denominations it will accept are the dip switches on the bottom of the transport. I think on to reject and off to accept, starting with switch 2, but it should be easy to figure out if I'm wrong, especially if only one switch is different than the others

Thank You, OK I got the credits working and set to player selectable so I am happy-happy there. Just don't work on these enough here to remember everything in this old one cell mind of mine! On to the BV, it does take 20's so I am going to have a look at those dips now to see if they are all on, so thank you. Say, would you know the bulb # for the deck buttons on this upright as all of them are missing....gone, no bulbs in there at all. Maybe a #657 or something?

Sorry, can't remember off hand and all mine are LED now. Not the same as S+ though, 6v instead of 12v

I went all LED also.  I probably Gabe about 100 of those bulbs to the purchaser of my machines.  If you talked nice to him he would probably send you 20 or so although I recommend the LED's.

I hear you there! Well this guy is just wanting his machine fixed and it is now, lucky for him as the Varta battery had acid Cristal's all over it. I had seen the same on a IGT Vision that I fixed, no luck there, the MPU was a goner as it was ate up inside the traces. This time we had luck and he didn't have to buy a new MPU. I am going to suggest he goes with the leds also as I don't think you would ever have to change them again. I think this machine is ready to go out, I even found a waffle JCM BV cleaner I had so I ran that and it was black when it was done. I thank you all for the help, as I need to bone myself up on these S-2000 vision machines again and the gamemaker for a home repair coming up that I don't do very often.

I wouldn't even put a new Varta on, they're nothing but trouble

I wonder what you use in it's place, do you put in a battery holder and use something else to replace these Varta batteries?

If it's a 500 series MPU, jist leave it out. If it's a 1270 series MPU then you have to remove or at least cut the legs on transistor U16 right next to the battery
