S2000 coin jam door closure m error
« on: November 28, 2020, 05:42:41 AM »
I have a triple hot 7 s2000 with a coin in jam and door closure m error code.

Just got the machine, don’t know previous history.

Coin battery was dead, replaced, same error. Green battery is fine.

This machine is coinless.  Button lights are off and do nothing when jackpot key is set to accounting.

What is my next step?  I have a clear chip, but I think it is the wrong one for this board.

You should use IVC00224 & KEY00045 with that enhanced MPU. Be sure the jumper is in place on your coin harness. I can't see it in your pics. Check both door I/O cards to be sure they are properly seated. I have chips available if needed. PM me if interested.

Door closure is not an error and can be eliminated by opening and closing the door.  Of course you must get rid of the coin error first.

I think the clear chips should resolve the issue.

I’m looking for a blank to replace the missing player tracking parts.  Any ideas where to source this?  Didn’t see on eBay.

After using the clear chip and reinstalling stepper base.

The machine goes into KEy chip config,  but none of the buttons function.

When I swapped the IO cards, the buttons function.

Looks like a bad card.  Are they universal
For this machine, or what card do I need to order?

Bad I/O cards is a possibility. You have the correct ones or 802s in the metal ones. More likely it's not wired right. Post detailed pics of the I/O wiring. Only 4 buttons should function during key chip config.

I think you need to switch the harnesses on the door I/Os. Since they are the ones with the black housing you should be able to swap them as long as they are know working I/Os it should work.

Harness from MPU goes with the one that pulls up vertical.

Short harness from the one that's on a 45 goes to the line display.

Neither I/O card makes buttons function or light up now.

I swapped them a few times & put the harnesses in the correct spots.

How likely is it that I had 1 bad card, and one just before failure?  Machine has sat for a good while and been moved cross country.

It's possible.

I have the I/O cards available if you're interested.

I used the new clear chip and key chip, also installed the 2 I/O boards.

Still having trouble.

First the display stated cannot find 10button I/O card,  then it stated meter disconnected.

When I remove the third IO card mounted to the MPU,  the reel lights become lit up.  They have otherwise been dark.

Should I replace this IO card as well?

I believe that the 10 button panel error should go away by opening and closing the door.

The meters do use that I/O card mounted on the MPU housing so probably needs replaced.

Check the meter on the right side bottom and make sure the meters are truly not disconnected

You will get meter disconnected when you pull the cabinet I/O. I hope you didn't pull that I/O hot. Don't plug it back in hot either.
10 button I/O not found happens when the door I/O wires are switched.

It said meter disconnected while still plugged in.  I did pull it out while hot.  Will be more careful in the future.

Currently, that is the only error.

I guess I’ll try a new I/o card.

Also,  the  DVB has never lit up.  I see that it does have power.

Will this probably happen when I clear all of the other codes?

The BV bezel will will only light up when it's ready to play. Machine errors do affect that.

I got this machine up and running.  Thanks for the input.

It occasionally gives a reel tilt, that is solved from opening and closing the door.

Is this possibly from sitting unused for years? Suspect door sensors?

Also,  BV head was bad.  I swapped it with a working one, and it lights up
And validates.

No way to diagnose/repair correct?  Just replace head?

If the door optics are aligned. Check and see what GME chips you have in there. If they aren't 598 you should probably upgrade. That will help with reel tilts.

Heads are cheap.
