williams 40x slot resets when using the dbv200

I have a Williams American 7's slot. when I insert a one dollar bill into the dbv it cause the machine to reset, just as if the power was turned off and on. I have a copy of the service manual and confirmed the settings where correct. I also removed the bill acceptor and tested it in my Bally 5500 and it works correctly.
        Would like to know what I may be missing.

Sounds like a weak power supply.
Check your connections and power
out puts at the power supply.

I replaced the rather small switcher power supply with a 380w computer power supply. And the switcher power supply actually went bad as I was originally checking the settings in admin. So I know the 12volt to the dbv is ok. I'm thinking I/O board.
