IGT S+ ISSUES

While playing today the machine started making a loud humming noise and the reel was slowly spinning in reverse. There was no error displayed. I looked at the table of possible issues on the door and it says it’s a bad EPROM. I did a search on here and saw that it could possible be due to the from door not being closed fully. I opened it, then shit it. The game worked fine. A few minutes later it began cutting out while the reels were spinning. The reels would stop spinning and the displays would go blank. After a few seconds it would come back on and finish the spin. It would go fine for a while then do it again. Now the numbers are flickering while spinning as well as when the game is not being played. I have attached a quick video of how it looks. I tried pressing the reset button in hopes it would display an error code, but no luck. Is this still an EPROM issue, or possible a wiring issue?

Open the door and slightly raised the white Molex on the motherboard that comes from the power supply.

Your ground pin (2nd from right) is oxidized.

If you pull off the Molex and turn it around, you'll see what I mean.

Any auto shop will have some spray that will help clean the male pins and female receptor pins.

However, nothing is better than plain old elbow grease.

Some guys swear Brillo pads work for the male pins but you'd have to get all the soap outta them first.

It is best to replace the cable with an upgraded one. The old connectors only touched on one surface, the new ones touch on three
