GK 044 game theme change?

I've gotten somewhat tired of my Cleo II stinginess (even on the loosest setting) and am thinking it's time for a Super Star Poker conversion. 

After reading the 044 software manual I'm somewhat confused.  Is the flash board actually loaded with the game theme or does it reside on the EPROM boot chip?  It doesn't make sense to me that the theme is loaded on the board itself even though that is what it says in the manual as I don't see any programmable components other than the EPROM (or am I misunderstanding something)?

Yes games are on the flash board not the boot chip.

So.. I'd like to have a separate flash board (given past experience with a SHA error) just to swap in.  I may have a lead on a new 044 flash board but that implies that I need a new boot chip as well as someone to flash the game theme on that board, correct?  If so, can you recommend a vendor here or should I just post the question to the classifieds?

check with RB here on the site about getting a boot39 chip.  it can get past sha failures(most of the time)
