Spin Reels, pulling the arm...both not both!
« on: June 16, 2020, 06:38:08 PM »
Okay, maybe I'll stump someone on this one but hopefully it's an easy fix.  A while back, the arm on my Volcano machine got stuck in the down position.  I eventually took the whole mechanism apart using the manual as a guide and then put it back together.  Somehow, I got the arm working again (turns out it just needed lubrication...hold the jokes).  Anyway, I hooked everything back up the way it was and things seemed to be working just fine.  Except now, there's a weird new problem.

Only the arm makes the reels spin!  Well, all of the rest of the buttons work except for the "Spin Reels" button!

So, I looked inside at the little module (photos attached) that is by the arm.  It has three metal tabs and two wires, one green and one yellow.  The green one goes to the top tab.  And I made a mark to let me know that the yellow one went to the kind of diagonal tab (as opposed to the one on the bottom).  When it's hooked up that way, the arm makes the reels spin, but not the "Spin Reels" button.  And when I take that yellow cable and plug it into the bottom tab (another photo attached), it makes the "Spin Reels" button work again...but the arm doesn't!!  I can't seem to figure out how to make BOTH the arm and Spin Reels button work at the same time- it used to work that way but clearly I hooked something up incorrectly when I put it all back together.

Any insight would be truly appreciated!

~Jim

The tab with the green wire on it is not used. Use the other 2.

Wow so I definitely showed my noob status with that one! The problem is solved (I just didn’t think those two wires were situated so close to each other) and everything is working again. Thank you so much for the fast reply. I’m sure I’ll be on the forums more often as I continue using the machine!!

Actually, that’s very helpful and normally I learn all about this kind of stuff- I think I let my frustration get the best of me this time. Hopefully it’ll help someone else in the future, too!!

Anytime I unplug wires when working on machines, I take a photo before so I can put them back correctly.  I've done that ever since I fried a monitor when a plugged something into the incorrect plug.
