Indeed, I had to leave the slot machines and everything else for several months but now things are better so I'm picking up where I left off with the Pink Panther.
So the rollers do not rotate at all and I have the following different error messages
I took several photos and tell me if I need to take more?
The MPU card is lit with only the top lamp in orange
Thanks a lot

"Bill Validator Hardware Error".... you have an IBA4 bill acceptor.
I believe that was called an "International Bill Acceptor" made by JCM (Japan Cash Machine) and from the label, I can see that it was made in December of 2004....sooo...that thing is going on 20 years old now.
Unfortunately, I have never seen one of those as I'm in the United States.
I'm sure someone has some info relating to that model but also, that is pretty old too.
I will try to dig around and see what I can find on that BV.

For now, try doing the simple things such as re-seating the cash box and opening & closing the main door a few times.

Open the door, press the little white Test button on the power switch box...it might be behind it too?
Then watching your LCD screen in the Menus, that would be in the "LCD Volume" as you scroll thru the pages.

Hello, so it won't last long, it gives me error messages and sometimes alerts me to problems with the bill validator but not particularly the closing of the doors.
It also often happens that the three reels spin but very quickly without being able to stop.
The breakdowns seem random sometimes I press the test button once or 2 to 3 seconds on it and the machine starts again but not for long.
Likewise, do you know if it is possible to disconnect the bill validator to avoid error messages on this machine?
Thank you for you precious help

Your 1st photo indicates that you've changed the game chip and the MPU is seeing that it's not the correct chip.
Did you mess with them?
Opening and closing the door a couple of times should erase all "stacked" error messages.
Your green and amber LED lights on the MPU are ok....as long as the red one doesn't light up.

Pressing the Test button is only supposed to be for entering programming menus...not for clearing anything - unless you've changed chips.
If you're losing settings, your MPU may be suspect.
Without me going back thru 120 Reply's, can you post a clear photo of the socketed chips on the MPU?
Also, a photo of the green Varta battery and that area.
Something is causing that CRC checksum error.
That's a major error indicating that the MPU is seeing a possible major programming fault with your Game chip.

Finally, if you disable the bill acceptor, how will you get credits on the machine to play?
Does the machine have a coin comparitor mechanism?

Hello, thank you very much for your quick, complete and very precise feedback.
From memory, two years ago now I bought chips from a member of the site because I was told to do so.

I played with these chips because today again by pressing everywhere between the test button and the reset key the machine started again and I have just played around fifty games with it without problems, sometimes it works for 6 hours immediately without problem and then impossible for three days it remains blocked.

For the lights, it is perhaps not very visible in the pictures but sometimes it is the bottom 3 which are lit, including the green one and sometimes only the orange one at the top.

Attached are pictures of the MPU, the location of the Varta battery which was not present on the board, the chips as well as the picture of the coin mechanism which works perfectly and which gives 10 credits for one token.
Thanks for your help

Any way you can post a video? Even if only to youtube, it will let us see what it is doing. Right now my mind is going to power supply acting up. Or you have a door hinge that is allowing it to move while pressing the button. I had a vision doing weird things once and traced it to vibration. Taping the door, reels spinning etc. Found that the MPU was not seating well in the MB. Replaced the MB and never a problem since
Thank Ya Thank Ya Very Much.

To answer your photos, all the LEDs look ok.
The chips look alright physically.
The ex-Varta battery area of the MPU looks okay on the surface.

The only that bothers me is your statement that the machine is " then impossible for three days it remains blocked."
What do you mean by "blocked", and why 3 days?

Hi, I meant it works then it doesn't work anymore then it works again, in short it's random and there doesn't seem to be any logic.
So when Therockinelvis wrote that he had experienced a strange breakdown in the past, I was wondering if the 3V battery is sufficient and if we shouldn't solder a 3.6V battery because the battery may not do well contact?

I don't know...did you solder in your coin cell holder?
You checked it for continuity to the on-board circuit traces?
If you lose the internal accounting numbers and everything is reverted back to zero, then I would say that there's something wrong with the continuity of the coin cell holder mounting solder job than the voltage of the cell.
3 vdc is more than enough...I think you can drop as low as 2.78vdc, before the MPU shoots out a "Low Battery" message?
I don't remember the exact low voltage limit offhand, unless I look in a manual.
If you're NOT getting a "Low Battery" message, then something else is wrong.
Could be an MPU pin not getting a good connection, flakey power supply, or even the MPU itself.

Another thing to think of, is the machine works for about 6 hours.
Doesn't that sound like something is overheating?
How are all the fans in the machine?
Turn the power OFF and manually turn each fan you find in the machine with your finger or a pencil eraser tip.
What you are checking for is a fan blade that has waayy too much resistance.
The fan blades should spin easily and with hardly any effort - like as if they are brand new.
If the fan bearings are shot, that forces the PSU (Power Supply Unit) to try to keep up with the amperage to the fans to try to keep them spinning while under excessive loads.
After a while (in your case, 6 hours), because of the excessive fan resistance, the power supply gives up.
Six hours of old fans drawing too many amps - kills power supplies.
If you find a bad fan, then I'd be ripping the cover off of the PSU to look for bloated, swollen capacitors.... a definite sign of a PSU dying out.
