On the WMS-40X machines ID-044P/045P ver 2.70-05 (cksum AA03) was the last software update for the DBV-200 as far as I know. It was released in January 2008. This software update gave the DBV-200 capability to work with all the new style bills except the new $100. Ver 2.70-05 is often called the "new purple $5 update" because that was the most recent bill it covers. This software version contains 2 protocols, ID-044P and ID-045P. DBV-200 dipswitch #10 selects which one you enable, see the dipswitch chart in the attached document. I think ID-045P was for reading barcode tickets and ID-044P was for normal operation accepting paper money.
I don't know about other models of WMS or Bally machines, they may use a different ID protocol. But at one time in history WMS and Bally were part of the same company, so maybe some WMS and Bally machines used the same protocol (ID-044).
http://am-en.jcmglobal.com/support/downloads/software-information/From looking at the JCM website there was a separate software release called version 2.70 (cksum 0FC8) for ID-044, released in Feb 2008, but I don't know what it was used for. The note on the document for this software says "Head only", so it may not have worked with a stacker or transport setup. Maybe the software 2.70 you have is actually the 2.70-05 version. The cksum for it should help identify.
