S2000 battery replacement

i understand there are three battery’s in the circuit boards.  The small round battery I have but the other two I am trying to locate.  Any suggestions?

There are only 2 in the s-2000.  The round coin battery and the green Varta battery. If not already removed the varta needs to be. It is not needed for home use. If you have the enhanced board you would also have to remove the u-16. Post a pic of your board if your not sure witch one you have.

If you remove the Varta on a non enhanced  board is there some other procedure that is required to leave the battery off of the board.
I get a error message if I do that.

Its the other way around. If you have the enhanced board you also would have to remove U-16 or you get an error. On the 502 & 504 non enhanced board you only have to remove the varta battery.

#3 is not a battery.  It's an electrolytic capacitor.

You do not have the enhanced board. Yours is either a 502 or 504. So remove the varta only not U-16

And the board will come up and play without the Varta?
Previously I was told the Varta must be in there for the board to work and there were posts about running a jumper across the PC pads where the battery was.

I take them off all my 500 series boards here and never had a problem. Never install any jumpers either.

So what is the purpose of the Varta battery.  Why is it ok to not have it?  Not questioning anyone knowledge, just curious myself.

Ok so battery replaced and carts removed.  I put the board back in the machine now what do I need to do to pull any error codes?

With the door open and the machine booted to the error message.  Turn the jackpot key 3 or 4 times until the VFD says press reset button and close main door.
Do that and machine should be good to go.

Yes. After you press button for 2-3 seconds close the door.  The display will tell you what to do.
