Printer door open closure M error
« on: May 04, 2015, 06:47:35 AM »
I moved the printer on my s-2000 IGT triple stars machine, and when I pushed it back in, I got a printer door open closure M call attendant error.  I have pulled the printer out and reinserted it many time, no effect.  I have tried to reset the machine, no help there either.  Any suggestions?

Tbanks,
Don

Have you pulled it completely out? I'd check to make sure there isn't some little bit of something keeping it from being completely seated in. And check the panel that it seats up against. It's possible the panel could have shifted ... somehow.
Also make sure your door latch is latching and aligning properly. That could also be keeping the error from clearing.

Thanks for responding.  I have pulled it out completely, and I used an air can to dust the circuit board off that is behind it, and I have reinstalled it several times.  The door latch is quite good, and I'm sure it is closing properly.  I have seen something about an LED on the printer, and I have located it on my printer.  The LED does not light up at all.  Maybe that is a clue for someone.  I have removed the printer paper and reinstalled it, and the printer grabs it and positions it properly.  On the board behind the printer there seems to be a sideways U shaped device, and there is a corresponding piece of metal on the printer frame.  It looks to me like this is a sensor that should see that the printer is in position.  Maybe this is what is not working.  I have run out of answers here....

Thanks,
Don

S2000s stack errors remember? So if you pulled the printer out that gives an error (#1), remove the paper, that's error #2, pull printer again, there's error #3, and so on. Closing the main door "clears" ONE error at a time, and the display will not change until the very FIRST error is cleared. So, close the main door and slowly  lift up and down on the door latch about 6-7 times. Latch needs to go all the way up, and all the way down.

If this doesn't work, but I really think it will, we can do an Auto-Config in menu 4. That will, many times, wake up a device (printer or BV, for example) that has errored out.

Report back and let us know where you get Don!

I had the machine powered off (unplugged) for several hours.  I just now turned it back on, and the error was still there.  I opened and closed the main door only once, and the error cleared!!!!  I'm happy boy now!  Thanks so much for the advice.  I had opened and closed the door a number of times before, but usually after doing something to the printer.  It looks like you hit the nail on the head with this, one more open and closing would have done it.  Thanks again.
Don
