Power Issue?
« on: July 14, 2016, 04:23:24 PM »
I just got a Triple Star Slotto machine. Was working great yesterday, plugged in today....nothing but lights on MPU flashing every couple seconds. Battery is good, changed it out. Reseated MPU IO's ect. connections tight.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Try unplugging the fluorescent ballasts (input side) and then turning the machine on to see if it boots up. Could be a bad ballast.

More likely it's a power supply or MPU issue. Try the PS first if you have another S2 to borrow from.

Did you happen to remove and replace any chips? Last time I had flashing lamps on the mpu I found a bent pin on one of the chips.

Ok not the MPU, PS, Power Cord, or ballast.
Checking pins, I did put a key chip in, looked ok, but I will inspect closer

Unlikely scenario but if this is an enhanced MPU check the (2) 15 amp fuses on the MB before replacing it. You mentioned no bent pins already. Make sure you did not put the base chip in backwards. I know, (basic stuff) but sometimes we get over confident. I've done it before & couldn't believe I actually did that. You might try another base chip in it just to insure that it's not causing the problem.

It's not an enhanced board, reversed chip, learned my lesson on that, always dbl check before before powering up board.
Going to make Backups of chips 1. just in case, and 2. it'll let me know if chip is bad. if nothing there, then will try mother board.
