My Homemade Poker Machine
« on: October 02, 2016, 04:21:45 AM »
Ok for my first post...

I thought i might post my Poker Machine build

The only reason i have done this is because..

I Can And i needed another toy in my man Cave

 Using:   i5, 2g, 300hdd, 19inch old lcd screen

Took me a while to workout the layout of this, but in the end I did

I started with finding this Print online

 I resized the image..

And made a template more to my liking..

 screengrab

I then over cut template on 6mm Mdf.

Then used template and routed 16mm Mdf..

 free image host

I then wrapped it with Kevlar 3d Vinyl wrap..:yup:

 image hosting 20mb

The Fan cutouts..  Very Happy hows these turned out:veryhappy:

 photo storage

Ok now the outside looks like this

 image upload no limit

Now to start fitting it all, The Button Keypad, Monitor, Front panel + Marquee !!

 image url

Now to start putting it together

 free image host

 image hosting 10mb limit

 Monitor placing now found..

 image free hosting

 image upload no compression

Still have to put in few pieces..

 Thats the Build so far.

Im going to have to make a part 2 because i can only post 15 pics in One post..

 Some Electronics in part 2

 - - - Updated - - -

 Part 2

 Some electronics to play with

Then it was on to "how to" wire up the Mk6keypad to a Usb keyboard..
This took me a bit of time, so im going to post this to help others..To make sense of this
 Keyboard mapping..

 image hosting 10mb limit

And some of the stuff that will be going in to it..

 how to screenshot on windows

This is all work in progress..

Over a year in the making..

 More to come very soon

If there is any interest ??

Hi Jumbyjim.  Welcome to  :nlg-logo:

Your project is looking really good!  You have a lot of talent and creativity.  Looking forward to seeing more pictures as your project progresses.  Sorry you had problems posting some of the them here.  There's a forum where you can report problems here: http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?board=2.0  I've had issues posting pictures a couple of time too, but usually just waiting a day or so and trying it again would work.

Looking forward to seeing it in action when you're done with it!

I like it! I have built one myself to look like a round top IGT style with independent video screen in the upper portion and a 19 inch touch screen monitor for the games. I also added a one arm bandit on the side so you can either play with the arm, the touch buttons (also using a USB keyboard encoder) or the touch screen. Also added a 400watt sound system in it with a subwoofer.

I like seeing other people's idea on how they make their machines. In the past, I have made MAME arcade cabinets, Pinball cabinet and many other games. It is always a new learning experience each time. Kudos to your project!!

Doesn't an infinity mirror add a magical touch to the project? I had added one for the top of my bar and had dream lights left over and decided to add them in as well. Only problem is that when I adjust the scan rate of the lights, somehow it ended up being the same frequency as my bar top so I have to turn one or the other off and do the adjustment. Never both at the same time. LOL

Looks cool but can you define an infinity mirror.
If you can't afford to lose you can't afford to win.

Ok time for an Update..

Hey bigdps do you have a thread with pics of your bar top and some of your other builds?? I would really like to see them..

What software are you going to use in this?

I am going to use the Mk6 Emulator with the 122 Aristocrat roms i have..

I managed to get some more done today..

Finished fitting the Pc and wiring

Then i stuck on the El tape

And now it was time for a test.

As you can see i have to wire up the bottom+monitor leds into a individual power supply.
I will also be wiring the infinity light up to a individual power supply.
The infinity light has its own remote control so i can change colours, dimm, flash, turn it on or off..

Now for a software and keyboard test..

Now to Fix those Leds and install infinity light..

I also have Kodi installed on this machine which will also be a Video Jukebox.
I will be sitting this on a stand with a Logitech Sub a 4 speakers built inside the stand.
It should pack a punch when the Music is going..

Ok thats it for now.

Cheers

Right now, I am in the process of setting up our Christmas display to raise money for Make A Wish. But after December, I could see myself build something just to use up my leftover PC parts. Great way to recycle and have fun with it!

That's the problem with building our own toys. There is never an end to it as you just keep adding more bells and whistles as you go along.

This machine is purely "ENTERTAINMENT VALUE ONLY"

It is just software in the end. With my build around it.
If you look hard enough you can find this software...Anywhere!!

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE ONLY

No Money..

I do not want to close this thread!!!

And I will Not..
