Can't get past "Door Open- See attendant"
« on: May 02, 2014, 12:39:44 AM »
I'd like to start out that I'd gladly pass a few bucks anyone's way that can help- I don't believe that there's free lunch, just want to get this machine up and working again!

Pre:

I got this Fortune 1 game from my Aunt & Uncle when they wanted it out of their house, and I wanted it for decoration really. It WAS fully functional and it did work when they gave it to me. I let it sit however for about a year before I decided to turn it back on and get it working. Well, when I did- the bell rung very loud, the coin tumbler turn constantly- pausing for a half second every second, the hold buttons blink, and the light on the top blinks as well. On the screen the words "Call Attendant" and "Door Open: N01" shows up.

After removing the bell cover so I could at least keep this on long enough without having my neighbors call the police, I tired about everything I could to get this thing to reset. Read some posts here about pressing the reset button for 5 seconds, and turning the side key, and all sorts of stuff. I've reset the boards, bought new optics, held the optics together, confirmed they were working via cellphone camera, and so forth and so on. I just don't know what else to try. There's a "Self Test" button, and "Cursor Adv" button. Also I flipped a reset dip switch on one of the boards hoping that would help, but to no avail.

Can any one help?! I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much- :)

Hello, What you have is a Fortune II machine.. On the main board there is a smaller board.. That is the CMOS Ram Module.. You need to make sure your machine is turned off. Then remove the main board from the machine that has the CMOS Ram Module on it.. Try moving the switch on the board from the on position to reset, then back to on.. This should clear your machines ram and hopefully clear the message.. If that doesn't work, then I would call Larry Weber at K-Lar in Las Vegas, 702-363-9998.. They work on these older machines and might be able to talk you thru something else to try. I've attached a could pictures of the boards and the switch in question.. Do you have a manual for that machine? If no I can email you one in PDF form..

Gary
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Thank you for the response- and for the correction on the right machine I have. I did flip that dip switch but when I turned it back on after reseating, still the same message came up... I'll give Larry a call and see what I can find out.
