NEW PROBLEM Ms Little Green men Vision/Multi Denom SOLVED!!!!

I've run into another issue setting up multi demon on my MSLGM Vision. My friend Bill warned me about Visions and multi demon being problematic but I know other users with this machine and it's working for them. I am running 3C 5L MSLGM, VSGX1 and SG380's. At first, I couldn't enter the keychip menu but that problem has gone away. The issue I'm having now is that the option to setup the touch pad doesn't come up. I can set up accounting denom, coin denom, player denom and I can assign a game (%) to each amount. What's missing is the last step which is setting up the touch pad ie: 1 and 3, 2 and 4 etc, etc... So, after failing to be able to set that up, I close the door and get Machine Type Mismatch. If I shut down and restart I get 7-Segment Display error. I'm about to just go back to GX0 and 248's and scrap the multi denom but I figured that I'd post first. I did use 2 different touchpads by the way.

By the way, this machine originally came as multi denom (different theme) and was converted to a Vision. So, I do have all of the original MD parts inside.

Mine has the change denomination pushbutton on the button deck.

Ah...good point. I hadn't asked Elvis if he had the button or the touchpad. I don't think my harness has that option but will check.

Touchpad is generally determined by display type. 663 uses a touchpad and 552 uses a pushbutton

Good point. Mine is 5-5-2.

Try the button on deck multi denom type (blue button on 5 button deck.
If you change out that display with the older non-touch screen type it should work. old has white plug 5-5-2 new has black 6-6-3 going to harness. This is what I have found with visions. They seem to work better with short reel glass set ups the kind that have the printer next to the reels. On the long reel glass you must use the older panel with the white plug and no adaptor to use black. Bottom line visions use 5-5-2 for multi denom.

Makes sense. Mine is 6-6-3. I'm not sure if I have the spare parts laying around to make the switch. Sounds like a fun project though. I have a harness with the extra button on a machine that does not use it. I can use that. I'll have to look around and see if I have a 5-5-3. Thanks, guys.

Ian, None of my visions are multi. I thought you are working on a 3 reel. Is that the same set up as the 2 row button deck? I thought 3 reel was only 5 button deck.

Mine is a 3 reel, 5 button deck. I gave up on making that machine a multi denom as it does not have the harness for the extra button. However, my Munsters Vision did have it. I was successful inchanginf that one over using GX1 and 380's. As usual, the guys were correct about 2 things. Visions don't use the touch pad or the 6-6-3 display for multi-denom. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
