Hi all

I still try to get my pink panther in to running mode.

This machine was previously working fine with the same chips and flash card installed (the top box was send to a repair shop, cause the BIOS settings has been lost after a battery change. They told me every should be fine now with the computer).

Right now it is booting, APP start is displayed the reel starts to init, then on screen i get the message: there is a problem with the machine, call attendant. The display tell me: Bonus game not supported.

Where i have to investigate, do i have a MPU issue or i have to go for the top box etc.?

Any help is strongly apprichiated.

Dear community

I d'like to close this topic.

I found the solution. It was exactly what the display told me, because there was a mismatch with the chip set on the MPU and the flash card files (PCMCIA).

The machine is still not working, i have to find a PC/PCMCIA reader, so i am able to reimage the flash card.

You should have BGM 109 on data card and SB339. Vision machines love SG 248's with vs9gx1 and SG380's with vs11gx1

Thank you very much for this information.

The chip set i got is SB000342, sg000380 with vs011nx5.

The repair company has sent me now BGM00127 (Pink Slip Bonus)

Now the message (bonus game not supported) is gone, app starts and i got the everytime a different message like "cannot find MSCRAS@@.@P@"and "COM LINK FAILURE", then a reboot takes place again.

I am not sure that the reimaging process was sucessfull, because on my old laptop(PCMCIA slots) win98 is running and the HDDRAWCOPY software doesn't run on win98. I could extract the files and copied it onto the flash card.

Right now i'a running out of ideas, how to get this image (.imgc) onto my flash card correctly.

Question: Do my BGM00127 and my chip set are matching, or did i messed up the flash card with my tries to add data by drag and drop?

I don't have a listing for BGM127. My Pink Slip runs BGM140. Earlier I gave BGM for Pick-a-Panther. Do you have 3 reel, 3 coin, 1 line game? Or 5 coin, 5 line? I have BGM 109 listed as 3r1l3c

What is the ATA number on your BGM00127 module? SG000380 requires ATA10065 or newer.

Here is a pic of my machine and a 2nd pic taken as i got the machine new and running (before the repairs).

Just noticed you have the polka dot cabinet. Love those. Please post a picture of your machine as it is now, and powered on showing messages. Do you have a jumper on JP1 inside the monitor on left between the memory sticks and the invertor?

Your game is a 5 line Pick a Panther... The BGM should be 109...if my notes are correct... your issue might be as simple as getting the BGM 109 on your data card....

Yes, for 5 line Pick a Panther it is BGM109 with SB339. These are what your glass calls for. Now if what you have had all along is 3 coin Pink Slip, it was wrong for your glass set. In my opinion Pick a Panther is the most fun, then Panther Bucks, then Pink Slip

To keep you updated:

I could buy a PCMCIA card reader(from china, well working) an was able to reimage the original game sets. Now the "version log" shows me:

RFA10027
ATA10065
BGM00127 (Pink Slip)

Thanks to "therockinelvis", i found out, my belly glass is wrong :-).

Right now i'm dealing with new issues.

The topbox was booting, the INIT pic was comming up with: please wait... (INIT.jpg) and then it was crashing and rebooting... after several tries now the topbox is dead (black, no function).

I d'like to close this topic and will open a new one after some further investigations.

Did you put a jumper on jp1? If not , remove the back off of the monitor. On far left near memory stick you will see jp1. Now you can see the entire boot sequence

Yes i did.
Meanwhile i found the lithium battery inside the topbox dead (0.4V). Replaced.
LCD seems to be unstable it is comming and going... have to check maybe power connection...

Make sure the topbox fan is working...it gets hot up in there and hurts that old computer.
I was having some boot up problems like you.
I went on ebay and bought some memory sticks and put them in the slots...boy, she runs much better!
The cool thing is that these are 64kB and you only need one memory chip in the inner socket to run more graphic intense games such as Pink Panther or Munsters.

My topbox fan is working well, i already replaced the simms (got 48MB now, enough to run the bonus game). Alimentation 12V and 25V are there.
The graphic chip is getting pretty warm, no backlight ignition.

Hmm, there is a VGA connector 10pin.

Does someone know the pinout of these VGA connector?

Should i open a new topic?
