Thinking about buying my first game
« on: November 15, 2019, 06:53:40 PM »
Greetings NLG folk!

So I'm thinking about purchasing my first slot machine for the game room. I'm in Texas, so pretty much the primary options are buying from reputable vendors and having the games shipped. Most seem to come from the Ohio or Florida areas.

I'm torn between a Bally S9000 like Quick Hits or something on the WMS BB line like Reels O'Dublin.  I've got plenty of pinball machines and have had one or two pachislos in the past, but let's face it guys, it's time to level up.

Any tips or suggestions between the platforms/games that I'm thinking of? I'm a huge fan of mechanical reel slots, but generally something a bit more interactive than the older IGTs.

What did you guys start with? Always curious!

-- Jimmy

Texas is a big state but I know there are several slot dealers in the DFW & Houston areas. PM me your location & I can likely put you in touch with someone.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Woo! First slot purchased today from a fellow NLG slot fanatic in a neighboring town. Special thanks to nextdrink here for hooking me up with one of my favorites! A true gentleman and a wealth of knowledge.

This was from my first classified post on NLG, and already meeting some great people, which is what this community is all about! Can't wait to get more into this, I'm learning all I can about the Alpha S9000 platform now. I'd really like to do a TITO for this, but the OS is a bit older at 316-02.

I installed TITO in my S9000. I followed Bettor Slots installation instructions and it was no problem.

Thank you everyone for the help! Turns out the printer just isn't configured on my machine yet, and I've got to get a clear card. RB and sixcardmark got me pointed in the right direction, so I should have everything ticking soon!
