Ultimate X multipliers
« on: January 22, 2020, 11:39:06 AM »
Can someone answer a question that has been raised on another forum: on an Ultimate X game, can a slot manager enter the attendant menu and erase any multipliers that remain after a player has cashed out?

This sounds like something one would need to key chip in early 2000s machines—do current machines have the option to easily reset games?

The general belief is that this is not possible.

It is my understanding that the Multipliers on the Ultimate X are reset when the player cashes out (although not 100% sure on this).  There's not way to reset anything on gameplay on any IGT game without doing a complete clear of the game.

They are not reset, and players actively look for unused multipliers—because playing with those multipliers have a positive expectation of winning in the long run.

I have personally done this twice, but haven't been lucky in my small sample size!

Learn something new!  But as far as the reset by the operator is concerned, that would be a no for sure.

I was at a Casino a couple of months ago and looked into this.  The machines they had didn't keep the multiplier after the player cashed out.  I don't know if it is a setting, or if it is dependent on the software version.

If this is true, then many people will be quite upset. The multipliers are built into the house edge, so erasing those multipliers when a player cashes out effectively increases the house edge.

That would be similar to resetting a progressive jackpot after someone leaves without winning it.

Good point.  It was very definitely not retaining them.
