S2000. Open the door, turn the jackpot key 4 times, press test button on the MPU as directed. Close door & read message on the display. Likely needs a battery.

Your machine is an S2000. Subject changed from "IGT Rell machine" to S2000 and moved to IGT S2000 section.

Thanks for the information.

Received the following error "Closure M" and "Main Batter Low".

I pulled the board and noticed a watch style batter and also the green main battery. Looking for any assistance on replacement part and how to resolve the issue.

Replace the coin cell. Remove the Varta battery completely. It will ruin your board. Is the coin cell soldered on or does it have a holder? If it's soldered on you can replace it with a holder to use a removable battery. CR2032 are most commonly used. I have batteries & holders if needed. PM me if interested.

The coin battery needs to be replaced with a new one.
The green battery needs to be removed and thrown out.
Clean the area where the green battery was with a mild vinegar and water solution. Dry well.
The green battery is not required for home use and should not be replaced. All it will do is ruin the board.
You may want to snap a few pictures so we can see how bad the corrosion has gotten.
After you remove the green Varta and replace the coin battery if all is good the key turns as above should get you going.

Thanks for the responses, they have been very helpful.

Attached are some pictures of the batteries, corrosion is not bad and has not leaked onto the board.  The coin cell is soldered in place, I like the idea of the holder to save time in the future. I will touch base with you once I get things started.

Regarding the Varta battery, just to get a better understanding, what function did the battery do if it is no longer required for home use?  I assume I can simply clip it out?

If I replace the coin battery, will I need to go through the clear 97 and key chip 17 process I was reading about?  If so I will need to get these items on order as I am new to the process.

Also, if you had any input on a  manual or documentation that would be helpful getting an understanding of the machine, any input on direction is appreciated.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Sorry one last question, do I need to consider any other battery replacement other than on the MPU, just trying to cover all bases, to get me back up and running.

There are no other batteries. You don't need to clear or key after replacing the batt. Just clear errors using key & test button. The Varta battery is used for casino telltale system & not needed nor recommended for home use.

There is some corrosion damage to the board hopefully not enough to damage the board. Look carefully at the traces by the green battery and you can see some of the effects. Gently wiggle and snap the green battery off that is the easiest way. Don't forget to neutralize the alkaline from the battery with the vinegar solution.  The tell tale function would tell the casino things like the main or coin doors were opened even if the machine was unplugged. It would also record the time it was opened.
