It’s been many a year since I’ve been on this forum, but the last time I was, it saved my behind!
I only know enough about these machines to get myself in trouble
Anyway to my problem. I just replaced my mpu/cpu/motherboard (not sure of the nomenclature) on my IGT S2000 enhanced because none of the lights would light up on the board and the error message was “Display’s NETPLEX link is down”. I replaced both batteries on the new board and put the small board (that was on the old board) on top of the new one. I installed it back into the machine and fired it up! Everything seemed to be working (lights, BV, memory test, etc..) until after a couple of minutes I received an error message “call attendant”. I then opened it open it up. The alarm went off and I used the reset key and closed the door. I saw that “game eprom crc mismatch OxB000001”. Displayed.

I scrolled through the reset key and got to the last message “some critical data will be lost” then “hold the button for 2-3 seconds”.

I did NOT push the button! At all! I was to afraid of deleting EVERYTHING!!
Now, HELP is what I need
Do I hold the button for 2-3 seconds OR chat with someone on this forum and get advice😁?

Do I need to first get a “clear chip” or something before to reset the memory?

That’s my question. Anyone that knows for sure, PLEASE let me know.
Thanks much in advance!!!

Press and hold button. It will then say close the main door.
All should come back and work fine.

Really? That easy?
You mean I stressed myself for nothing?
I figured it was going to delete all the memory on my original EPROMs, kinda like what I did to my very first desktop computer I bought at Walmart in 1994. I somehow ended up deleting everything on the hard drive in 2 days! Luckily, I took it back to Walmart and they gave me a new one. Every since that day, I get the “Sweats” anytime I get a permanently delete message.

OK, I’m gonna sack up, and give it a shot!
Thanks to both of you for the replies, much appreciated!!!

Well, I did it, I pushed and held the button for 3 seconds.
Got the message “proc board ID mismatch 0x3”
So I did the reset key thingy again.
This time I felt I was getting somewhere, because I got the “closure M” & Reel 3 tilt” messages
I spun and took out reel 3 and then replaced it.
I cleaned off the optic sensor on the door several times and the closed the door
Gently, instead of slamming the lever down, which I have to do sometimes.
I turned it back on
And........wait....wait...and wait for it!

HOLY $}#%!, the thing works!!!
Thanks you guys, that was awesome for your help!!
Can’t say enough thank you’s!!
😘 😘 😘 😘!!!!! P.S. I will donate to keep the site up and working
