IGT S plus issues

Hello, I am a new member and I just got hold of an IGT Model B5033CW.  I don't know if I am posting in the right section so please let me know.  There is a wealth of knowledge on this site so I'm hoping to learn.  The machine turns on and eventually shows a 12 in the display.  I know that is the battery error.  I pulled the MPU and the battery is dead.  I have a new one on the way.  My initial question is can I do any other testing prior to the battery being replaced?  Any guidance would be appreciated and thanks!

Nothing more to do until the battery is changed.  Hopefully good to go once replaced.

Okay, replaced the battery and the machine works.  2 issues though:


The coin slot doesn't work at all.  Coins jam and don't go down.  I did read that the green LED light is not on when the door is open but even then I would thing the coins would just go into the hopper.  I'm guessing that something is jammed on the comparitor and it needs to be cleaned.  Would that be a good place to start?


The second issue is that it accepts bills but seems to have trouble with newer $10 and $20.  $1 bills seem fine. Is that an optics issue (cleaning?) or something else software related?

Yes coins are jammed probably above the CC.  CC may not be snapped into place on all four posts.

Bill val needs software update or a newer model for newer bills.
