How do you change S Plus from coins to credits?

I would like to know hot to change my S Plus machine from putting coins in to just using credits.

Your S+ input always starts out to be coins or cash.


If we assume a 3 coin machine you can put in 3 coins, each add a credit. Once 3 coins go in, the rest would fall to the coin tray.
If you have a bill validator - you put in a $20, this would usually put 80 credits on the machine (assuming its setup for a .25c denomination)
Depending on the configuration of the machine you might get 3 credits and the other 77 fall to the tray.


When you play (and win) the coins either get paid out or go to the credit meter. The Cash-Credit button generally determines this.


These behaviors can be changed.
Take a look at Ricks Faqs (bottom right of the home page) - there is a sequence to determine what Game Chip you have.
Different game chips have different options. Post what game chip you have and we can provide more specific instructions.


One game chip in particular supports a Montana Credits which allows you to stuff your machine with coins and have the credits rack up. This was not allowed in most gaming jurisdictions.


You can set the Cash/Credit that all pays go to credits, when you cash out you can set your hopper limit low so not too many coins come out before the machine goes to hand-pay.

I looked at my chips and Game Prom says SP873, Reel Prom says SS6412 TYPE 21

If you press the cash-credit button does it lite up?

Press the white button next to power switch 3 times and tell us what it says in the winner paid window. (just close the door afterward to get back to normal)

In the winner paid window it says 5  1
Cash out button now lights up so when I put the quarters in the payout goes to the credit meter.




**I had changed the battery and then I used a ram clear chip. When I used the bv chip to set the bill acceptor, on the step where I need to hit the spin reels button to set denomination it would not work. The number stayed at 0 which I am guessing that is why my bill acceptor is not working. That is why I am putting quarters in to play now. Any other way to set denomination?

Progress!  You will have to use the set chip again.

OK. Now my credit meter only goes to 999 and after that the coins come out. Is there a way to raise the credit meter?

Press white button about a dozen times until you get a 7 in coins played window.  Increase the 1000 in winner paid window using the jp key and spin button.  If it doesn't take or spin button doesn't lite - cash out first.

Note that you cannot adjust the credit limit if there are credits on the meter. You must cash out or play off any credits in order to change credit limit settings.

Believe it or not, SP731 will let you change the hopper/credit limit setting with credits on machine.  I just changed it on two machines.
