Saw on the national news tonight that that old 20 year old IGT machine finally paid off on the progressive jackpot. I wonder now if they will retire the machine, or keep it on the floor?

I would think they keep it on the floor at least for a while.  That machine is a vegas legend in a way. I know every year when I go out there I always donate a few 100 in the machine, sometimes I even stop at mgm a few times just so I can play it. I've even seen lines just to play it

I was planning to post about this.  Hitting that jackpot also means that the final IGT S+ machine has been removed from the Las Vegas strip.  While there are still S+ machines to be found downtown and at some of the smaller off-strip locals casinos, I can say with some degree of certainty that this was the last surviving S+ at a strip casino.

I must say, it doesn't sound like it could have went to a more loyal follower though! He had just read an article on the machine in February (same one we talked about on here, i believe). The couple visits Vegas 3-4 times per year and has done so for the last 20 years...
